"Call To Arms" is a directory/magazine listing all known (to them) Re-enactment Groups. The listing are largely from the UK but also include others worldwide. The lists are organised by era from the "Dawn Age to Iron Age" (5000 BC to 400AD) to "A World at War" (1900-1990). Each society say what it does - Public display, Schools, Film work, New members welcome, Starter kit available, Disabled roles, Family friendly, Authentic camp, Civilan roles, Musicians, Dancing, Entertainers, Hand Combat, Archers, Seige equipment, Hand firearms, Artillery, Horses, Animals, Horse drawn, Motorised, Heavy armoured, Waterbourne and Membership size. Each society has contact addresses. There is also a "Yellow Pages" lising traders and service suppliers.It is publshed bienially (or until the latest edition has sold out) anf the current edition is 2004/2005. It is essential reading for anyone thinking of undertaking Re-enactment or Living History or for anyone searching for artifacts for use by schools and museums.
