The
Rood Fayre
The
Museum of Kent Life, Cobtree, Maidstone Kent Off
Junction 6, M20
For the last seven years Soutres ond
Clerces have organised and run the Templar's Fayre at Cressing Temple
Barns. During this time we have helped to increase the visitor figures
and bring the site more into the public eye. As the gate money from
the event has always gone to Essex County Council there has been
more money available for the upkeep of the grounds and its barns.
We thank you for your
support during this time, either as visitors or traders, and hope
that this will continue in our new venture to help another site
in the same way.
Bearing in mind the history
of the area there has to be a change of name for the event but no
drop in the standards we have set ourselves. We are moving nearer
the Channel Tunnel and Port in the hope of increasing our EU customers.
There is plenty of space for trading and camping and easy access
to the motorway (Junction 6, M20)
Please note the dates in your diaries
now and reserve the dates.
Cobtree are to launch
the event in their advertising from October and we will be placing
adverts in magazines and writing to groups both in the Uk and abroad.
.
We look forward to seeing you at "The
Rood Fayre."
Historical note: The Museum is situated
on land that was part of the estate of Boxley Abbey. Founded in
1146, it was famous for the "Rood
of Grace", a cross with an image supposed to be miraculously
gifted with movement and speech.
