A Medieval Pilgrimage

Barley Hall, Coffee Yard, off Stonegate, York

From York Minster walk down Minster Gate and Stonegate look on the left for a "Red Devil" gorbal end (that's the bit of the rafter that sticks out beyond the building) on a shop front and turn left into a narrow alleyway. Barley Hall is a hidden gem in the centre of York close to the Minster.

On July 9th and 16th this year, the street of York will come alive with the Corpus Christi Mystery Plays, organised by the Guilds of York - www.yorkmysteryplays.co.uk . Barley Hall is celebrating with a pilgrimage from Nostell Priory to York Minster, as well as living history and medieval music from the International Guild of Town Pipers.
