Bedfordshire Medieval Fayre]

Twinwood Airfield, Twinwood Road, Clapham, nr Bedford, Beds.

A real Medieval Fayre, complete with Medieval Traders and Craftsmen, plus various bands of rough soldiery and lordly household retinues on campaign in the bloody dynastic struggle between the mighty families of Lancaster and York briefly taking their ease and honing their skills. Here you can find Lordly housholds; a Gunnery company; an Archery Competition; courtly manners displayed in Dancing and Merrie Making; horsemen show off their mounted skills and providing Cavalry for the Battle; a Full Contact Medieval Sword Combat Tourney; Falconry, Archery Demonstrations, Artillery Demonstrations, and a show of Mounted Hunting Games.

The day culminates in a very nasty and potentially deadly Battle, as the seasoned troops of the Medieval Siege Society* re-create for your enjoyment and wonder the Battle of Northampton from 1460, a decisive turning point in the Wars of the Roses!!
