LOCATION FEES
School's Exploration Chests - a mini Museum in a box. A range of artefacts that the children can handle.

We offer a unique Living History experience brought directly to your school - no travel!. The re-creation of people and events from the past for Primary, Junior, Special School and Secondary pupils (Key Stage 1,2 and 3) will aid them in their understanding of History in the National Curriculum . Our Living Historians will come fully equipped with artifacts and they talk about the past from the point of view of the ordinary man and woman and/or a particular historic figure or event.

Due to the nature of our demonstrations, talks and workshops, we give added value, by covering in passing other aspects of the curriculum - Art and Design, Design and Technology, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, PE, Religious Education and Science. Our speciality is the Tudors but we can re-create late medieval and Jacobean history.

We have a standard Tudor day for schools but this can be modiefied to reflect different aspects of the national Curriculum. We have a series of presentations where we explain the artifacts. For example a Tudor Grandmother will tell you of her hard life looking after her poor family or a Barber-Surgeon will demonstrate his trade and tell you of the prosperous life of the "middle class" craftsman town dweller.

Practical Workshops can be added, where the children will make or do things to illustrate work and play as they were in the past. For example, hands on experience of making Tudor food or textiles and playing the games and pastimes of the rich and poor. We will adapt our demonstrations, talks and workshops to the differing abilities of Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and special needs pupils.

A range of talks cover other aspects of the National Curriculum.

If your school has printing facilities for A3 sheets each child will receive a Commonplace Book in which to record their experiences.

Our staff have many years experience in teaching at all levels and have full clearance to work with your children.

We have a range of packages to suit your requirements: Please click on the menu at the left to see the details of PRIMARY: Key Stage 1 and 2, SECONDARY: Key Stage 3 and Workshops.
